Information for Parents
Once again we will be offering two exciting weeks of camp. It will be conducted at beautiful Camp Tohiglo in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. The camp dates are June 20-27, 2009 (Junior High Camp) and June 27 - July 4, 2009 (Senior High Camp). The week of camp includes Bible studies, Bible quizzing, challenging messages, swimming, wild team games, crafts, archery, and other interesting and unique activities.
The complete cost of camp is $200 for the Junior High Camp and $225 for the High School Camp. The first $100.00 of the registration fee must accompany the 2009 Camper Application, with the balance of the camp fee due by May 20, 2009. Registrations are accepted right up until camp starts or until it is filled, but registrations received after May 20 must be paid in full. Apply early as we have limited space. While our acceptance policy is generally "first come, first served", we will accept our staff's children ahead of others. The camp fee does not include transportation to the camp, spending money for the snack shop, chapel offerings, or crafts. All meals for the week, basic camp activities, team t-shirt, and team pictures are covered by the camp fee.
Campers and parents should be aware that daily Bible memorization and lesson work are expected of all campers [see what we believe in our Mason Dixon Camp Doctrinal Statement]. The Daily Camp verse (or verses) will be done according to the national standard - each day's verse(s) and reference are to be recited with no more than two helps, with each help containing no more than three words. Please begin immediately to encourage all qualified Awana achievers from your clubs to join us for a never-to-be-forgotten experience. First time campers must be entering 6th grade or higher in the fall of 2009 and have earned an Excellence, Timothy, Meritorious or Citation or completed two years of Journey 24/7 requirements. Campers who have previously attended an Awana camp must complete one additional handbook/manual in the current handbook progression (contact us if you have any questions about this.) Junior High Campers must be at least 10 years old and High School Campers must be at least 13 years old by the first day of camp. While we accept early applications from campers who are on pace to finish their books, campers must complete all eligibility requirements prior to attending camp.
Many volunteer counselors and staff are needed to run this exciting camp program. Of particular need are kitchen
and maintenance staff and counselors. Godly men and women interested in applying for counselor or staff positions
should contact Mike Roche at Mrroche214 [at] msn [dot] com or 410-695-0567 or 240-417-0197.
We are excited for and proud of these top achievers. We would love to spend a week with them! You will be glad they came. If you have any questions, please contact us.
